Cupcake Hero
Do you think your The Next Cupcake Hero?
Well, let’s see your skills! Each month a theme ingredient will be named. The theme ingredient must be used in either the cupcake, the frosting, the filling or all of the above if you choose. Simple enough? I think so.
Okay my lovely Cupcake Hero Crew, I know I am doing things out of order here. You are all on the edge of your seats waiting for the Next Cupcake Hero. We are diligently working on a winner for Cupcake Hero: Earth Day. Life has been busy here at cupcake headquarters. But, I wanted to let you all know what the theme is for May. Ya know, so you can get your bake on… I am so totally stoked about this theme. I picked it months ago because May is my birthday month. Granted my birthday is at the beginning of the month, but.. no matter. Jaos and I celebrate our 7th Anniversary at the end of the month. May is a good month for us.
The theme for May is…
The theme for May is Cocoa Powder!
Now, before you start asking.. No, you do not need to bake with Askinosie Cocoa Powder. (Although, bonus points may be given to those who do…) You may use whatever cocoa powder you have on hand. However, Askinosie is my personal favorite and the only kind I use now. I strongly advise you to give it a try. Come on, you know you want to. Jaos and I both love it. I refuse to buy anything else now. You will not be disappointed. If you are a Hershey’s user, there is no looking back once you try this cocoa powder.
Next, I beg of you to be creative with this theme. Of course we will take any entries you guys bake up. With that said, go outside your comfort zone. Think up something new, exciting, different. Take cocoa to a new level.
If you want to participate, send me your cupcakery to CupcakeHeroStaff AT gmail DOT com by May 31.
- Name
- Your blog name and URL*
- Link to your Cupcake Hero entry
- Picture of your cupcakery (250 width is preferred)
This month the theme is Cocoa Powder, which must be used in the cake, frosting or filling.
Prizes this month kick ass, if I do say so myself. Askinosie Chocolate is going to provide a prize for the winner AND feature the winning recipe on their website. Does it get any cooler than that? No, no it does not. Many thanks to Shawn at Askinosie for being such a huge supporter of our cupcake cause.
I reply to every entry via email. If you dont get a “thank you” email from me, I did not get your entry. Please send it again, or say “HEY! Did ya get my cupcake or not?” I want to make sure everyone that bakes for the Hero is included!
*If you don’t have a blog just email me your name, recipe, picture and notes and I will post it for you.
Sign up to be part of The Crew. I will be doing theme ingredient giveaways in the coming months. You must be part of The Crew to be eligible.

OMG!!! I have an AMAZING cupcake hero story for you. My husband and his friends were at a local resturant and they were talking about how much they loved my frapuccinno cupcakes and the owner of the resturant over heard them and started talking to my husband. Well, it just so happend that he had in his car some cupcakes that he was taking to work, and gave 1 to the owner. The guy LOVED them!!! Totally flipped out! Husband told him that I also do wedding & special ocassion cakes….. just bragging not thinking anything of it. Next thing you know this guy tells my husband that he also has a catering company and is constantly getting requests for cakes and baked goods and that he does not want to deal with them; and wanted to know if I would partner up. Well, I never heard anything back after that day…. till just now. I have officially taken my first order!!! I am SO happy, can you imagine getting paid to do something that you love??? And I owe it all to you - Cupcake Hero! Maybe, one of these months my cupcake will actually get picked ;-D
luki- That is so totally better than winning my lame tshirt!!! Thats seriously awesome. I am so happy for you. I hope you will remember the little people now that you made the big time.
Best of luck babe! xo
